Introduction
I'm Ross Nicholson, an independent developer. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use my apps (Don't Worry, Word Slip, BrewDock and ClawdBar) and this website, rossnicholson.dev.
The short version
None of my apps have accounts, adverts, analytics or tracking, and I never receive the things you put into them. Your data stays on your devices.
Some apps have to talk to other services to do their job: ClawdBar asks Anthropic for your Claude usage, BrewDock works through Homebrew, and Word Slip connects to nearby players' devices. Each is explained below.
Don't Worry
The worries, categories and reflections you write are stored only on your iPhone, inside the app. They're never sent to me or anyone else.
Reminders are scheduled on your iPhone as local notifications. The app's data may be included in your iPhone's own backups (iCloud or computer), which you and Apple control.
To delete everything, delete the app.
Word Slip
Word Slip has no accounts and no game server. To play together, nearby devices connect directly to each other using Apple's Multipeer Connectivity (Wi-Fi, peer-to-peer Wi-Fi and Bluetooth), which is why the app asks for local network access.
The player name and colour you choose, and your moves in a game, are shared only with the other players in that game. Other players' names and moves aren't kept once the game ends. On your device, Word Slip keeps your own name and colour, your settings, and a count of games you've finished.
Deck purchases are made through Apple's In-App Purchase. Apple handles payment, and I never see your payment details. The occasional request for a review is shown by Apple.
BrewDock
BrewDock is a front end for Homebrew on your Mac. It runs the brew command, and Homebrew contacts its own servers to download and update software. Homebrew also collects anonymous usage statistics by default, under its own analytics policy, which you can turn off with brew analytics off.
App icons in BrewDock's Discover tab are loaded from icon.horse, which therefore sees your IP address and which app's icon was requested.
BrewDock's own settings are stored on your Mac. It collects nothing and sends nothing to me.
ClawdBar
With your permission, ClawdBar reads the Claude Code sign-in saved in your Mac's Keychain. It sends that sign-in only to Anthropic (api.anthropic.com), as part of a minimal request that returns how much of your Claude usage limits you've used. Anthropic's own privacy policy covers that request.
If you choose to sign in with ClawdBar directly, you do so on Claude's sign-in pages, and ClawdBar stores the resulting sign-in in your Mac's Keychain.
Your usage figures and settings stay on your Mac. ClawdBar collects nothing and sends nothing to me.
Updates for the Mac apps
BrewDock and ClawdBar update through Homebrew, which downloads new versions from GitHub. GitHub and Homebrew handle those downloads under their own policies.
This website
This site has no analytics, no tracking and no cookies. It's hosted on Cloudflare, which processes each request (including your IP address) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. Fonts load from Google Fonts, so Google also sees your IP address when a page loads.
Links to the App Store, GitHub and Buy Me a Coffee take you to services with their own privacy policies.
If you email me, I use your address and message only to reply to you. I don't share them or add you to any list.
Children's privacy
I don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy as my apps change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated, and changes take effect when they're posted here.
